Overview:

The “Welder” trade trains candidates in professional skills, knowledge, and employability skills, with project work and extracurricular activities for confidence-building.

Professional Skills:

  • Follow safety protocols (OSH&E, PPE, fire extinguishers, first aid, 5S).
  • Perform edge preparation using hacksawing, filing, and fitting.
  • Practice oxy-acetylene welding, brazing, cutting, and shielded metal arc welding.
  • Perform gas metal arc welding, gas tungsten arc welding, spot welding, plasma cutting, and arc gouging.
  • Weld MS, SS, aluminum, and copper in various positions.
  • Evaluate welds visually and correct defects.
  • Apply preheating, inter-pass temperature control, and post-weld heat treatment.
  • Understand workshop calculations, science, and engineering drawings for material estimation and weld quality.

Job Opportunities:
