Duration: Two Years

Overview:

The “Turner” trade trains candidates over two years in professional skills, knowledge, and employability skills, with project work and extracurricular activities.

Professional Skills:
First Year:

  • Perform basic fitting and turning operations (plain, facing, drilling, boring).
  • Execute grooving, parting, chamfering, knurling, and thread cutting.
  • Grind cutting tools and test lathe alignment.
  • Set lathe components for taper turning and boring.
  • Perform basic maintenance of lathes and grinders.

Second Year:

  • Produce precision components with ±0.02 mm accuracy.
  • Machine irregular-shaped jobs and utility items (crankshaft, stub arbor).
  • Perform CNC turning operations, including setting, programming, and operation.
  • Create complex components (worm shaft, drill chuck, screw jack).
  • Complete three group projects.
