Overview:

The “Sheet Metal Worker” trade imparts professional skills, knowledge, and employability skills, with project work and extracurricular activities to build confidence.

Professional Skills:

  • Select and mark sheet metal (type, thickness, size) using scribers, squares, and dividers.
  • Perform shearing, bending, beading, channeling, circle cutting, seaming, and riveting.
  • Create MS pipe joints using gas welding (OAW).
  • Perform soldering, brazing, arc welding, TIG welding, MIG welding, and spot welding.
  • Work with ferrous and non-ferrous sheets for framework, hollowing, and raising.
  • Fabricate utility items and repair mudguards, radiators, etc.
  • Understand properties of engineering materials, heat, and temperature.
  • Apply workshop calculations, science, and engineering drawings.
