Duration: Two Years

Overview:

The “Electrician” trade trains candidates over two years in professional skills, knowledge, and employability skills, with project work and extracurricular activities.

Professional Skills:
First Year:

  • Follow safety protocols and use fire extinguishers.
  • Identify conductors, cables, and perform joint-making.
  • Apply electrical laws (Kirchhoff’s, Ohm’s) in circuits.
  • Practice wiring for residential/workshop setups and fault detection.
  • Install and maintain earthing systems and lighting fittings.
  • Use measuring instruments and test heating elements and transformers.

Second Year:

  • Work with DC machines, induction motors, and alternators.
  • Perform synchronization, winding, and overhauling of machines.
  • Design control cabinets and practice speed control of motors.
  • Test and repair voltage stabilizers, UPS, and inverters.
  • Maintain distribution systems and EV charging stations.
