Duration: Two Years

Overview:

The “Electronics Mechanic” trade trains candidates over two years in professional skills, knowledge, and employability skills, with project work and extracurricular activities.

Professional Skills:
First Year:

  • Follow safety protocols and use trade tools.
  • Measure electrical parameters using DSO and maintain batteries.
  • Test passive/active electronic components and construct power supplies.
  • Practice soldering/de-soldering on through-hole PCBs.
  • Construct and test amplifiers, oscillators, and power control circuits.
  • Verify digital IC truth tables and use circuit simulation software.

Second Year:

  • Prepare and test electronic cables and assemble computers.
  • Perform SMD soldering/de-soldering and PCB rework.
  • Assemble AM/FM receivers and test microcontroller systems (8051).
  • Work with sensors, DPM modules, and fiber optic communication.
  • Troubleshoot SMPS, UPS, solar panels, and LED/LCD TVs.
