Overview:
The “Wireman” trade trains candidates over two years in professional skills, knowledge, and employability skills, with project work and extracurricular activities.
Professional Skills:
First Year:
- Follow safety protocols and perform basic fitting and joining.
- Identify conductors, cables, and perform crimping, soldering, and brazing.
- Apply electrical laws and measure parameters.
- Install plate/pipe earthing and maintain AC/DC machines.
- Draw electrical schematics and perform domestic/control panel wiring.
Second Year:
- Perform commercial and industrial wiring (inverter, CCTV, construction sites).
- Install and maintain illumination systems and sensors.
- Assemble solar components (charge controllers, PV panels).
- Repair domestic appliances (fans, washing machines, ACs).
- Understand smart wiring for automation and IoT.
