Duration: Two Years
Overview:
The “Electrician” trade trains candidates over two years in professional skills, knowledge, and employability skills, with project work and extracurricular activities.
Professional Skills:
First Year:
- Follow safety protocols and use fire extinguishers.
- Identify conductors, cables, and perform joint-making.
- Apply electrical laws (Kirchhoff’s, Ohm’s) in circuits.
- Practice wiring for residential/workshop setups and fault detection.
- Install and maintain earthing systems and lighting fittings.
- Use measuring instruments and test heating elements and transformers.
Second Year:
- Work with DC machines, induction motors, and alternators.
- Perform synchronization, winding, and overhauling of machines.
- Design control cabinets and practice speed control of motors.
- Test and repair voltage stabilizers, UPS, and inverters.
- Maintain distribution systems and EV charging stations.
