Duration: Two Years
Overview:
The “Turner” trade trains candidates over two years in professional skills, knowledge, and employability skills, with project work and extracurricular activities.
Professional Skills:
First Year:
- Perform basic fitting and turning operations (plain, facing, drilling, boring).
- Execute grooving, parting, chamfering, knurling, and thread cutting.
- Grind cutting tools and test lathe alignment.
- Set lathe components for taper turning and boring.
- Perform basic maintenance of lathes and grinders.
Second Year:
- Produce precision components with ±0.02 mm accuracy.
- Machine irregular-shaped jobs and utility items (crankshaft, stub arbor).
- Perform CNC turning operations, including setting, programming, and operation.
- Create complex components (worm shaft, drill chuck, screw jack).
- Complete three group projects.
