Duration: Two Years

Overview:

The “Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Technician” trade trains candidates in professional skills, knowledge, and employability skills over two years, with project work and on-the-job training.

Professional Skills:
First Year:

  • Follow safety protocols and use refrigeration tools and equipment.
  • Perform fitting, sheet metal work, and electrical measurements.
  • Repair and troubleshoot refrigerators (direct cool, frost-free, inverter).
  • Operate gas welding machines for brazing.
  • Maintain compressors, condensers, evaporators, and refrigerant controls.
  • Recover, recharge, and retrofit refrigerants.
  • Install and troubleshoot window and split ACs.

Second Year:

  • Overhaul commercial compressors and descale condensers and cooling towers.
  • Install and service water coolers, deep freezers, ice cube machines, and cold storage.
  • Study HVAC, duct designing, and air filter maintenance.
  • Troubleshoot package ACs, VRF/VRV systems, and central AC plants.
  • Service mobile ACs (bus, train).

Job Opportunities:
